Once Upon a Time season 7 episode 14 preview: ‘The Girl in the Tower’
So, what’s happening here? Well, if we were to think in a superficial way based on fairy-tale lore, the answer would actually be rather simple and this would be a story based almost entirely on Rapunzel. Yet, we’ve already seen that Once Upon a Time remixes and redoes character storylines so that you’re not just watching something that you’ve had a chance to see in the past. With that in mind, don’t draw any assumptions based solely on the name of the episode alone. This title may be thematic just as much as it is literal, a story of someone who feels trapped, captured, and really unable to find themselves within the chaos and oppression of the world.
In one way or another, this could be a story all about someone finding their freedom and earning more of their happiness. This is at least what CarterMatt is hoping to have, especially as we get closer to the end of the series. There are only so many things that can be wrapped up at one time and with that, the writers need to check off a few boxes here and there along the way.

Hopefully, this episode meets some expectations that are out there for fans and also has a few elements of everything that we love about the show: Heart, humor, magic, and a little bit of romance. Fingers crossed that this is another step in the show’s natural evolution — we do have to go back to Storybrooke eventually in some form, right?
