Criminal Minds season 13 episode 18: Joe Mantegna directs personal Rossi story

Criminal Minds season 13 episode 18

You may have known already that Criminal Minds season 13 episode 18 would be directed by Joe Mantegna. However, what you may not have known was that “The Dance of Love” would be a personal story for David Rossi. Over this episode we’re going to see Gail O’Grady appear for the first time as his ex-wife Krystall — we knew that Rossi had multiple exes, but this episode could actually be an opportunity to explore a little bit of what this relationship was like. It’s a fair assumption that the relationship that Rossi has to his job took a toll on this marriage as it had some of his other ones, but the precise dynamic and chemistry here remains to be seen — and that is what will be the most exciting for us about this episode.

The Criminal Minds season 13 episode 18 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below offers up a little more information for what to expect:

“The Dance of Love” – The BAU travels to Chicago to investigate an unsub who leaves red roses on each victim. Also, Rossi gets an unexpected visit from his ex-wife, Krystall Richards (Gail O’Grady), on CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, March 28 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Basically, this episode sounds like The Bachelor, only the sadistic, murderous and evil version where Chris Harrison sends you home in a body bag. Whoever is committing these murders seems to find a sadistic degree of romance in it. This episode as a whole feels like a mixture of a great case-of-the-week plot mixed with a really interesting, personal story for Rossi. We’ll see as this story progresses if there is a way for O’Grady to return in the future; you never want to say never with a character connected to a series regular’s past.
