Station 19 series premiere: Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson appearing

The Station 19 series premiere is coming your way in one week’s time on Thursday, March 22, and with a two-hour premiere no less! Isn’t there a lot to be excited about here? We like to think so! This premiere will effectively launch the extended Shonda Rhimes universe in a way that we haven’t seen since Grey’s Anatomy, and it seems as though ABC is very intent to make sure the new show gets off to a good start. After all, Ellen Pompeo and Chandra Wilson are both set to appear within the first two episodes.

“Stuck”/“Invisible To Me” – When the team responds to an apartment fire, Captain Pruitt takes a hit, the future of the station’s leadership is in jeopardy and firefighter Andy Herrera is forced to step up. Meanwhile, new recruit Ben Warren is trading in the scalpel for a fresh start as a firefighter, but it hasn’t been easy and he has a hard time realizing that emergencies in the field are vastly different than those at Grey Sloan Memorial. With the absence of Captain Pruitt, Andy and Jack try to navigate how to work together, and a car accident on a rural road puts both the victims and the crew’s lives at risk, on the series premiere of “Station 19,” THURSDAY, MARCH 22 (9:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.

By the end of this premiere we’re hoping that we get a better picture as to how this entire firehouse dynamic works and also how much interactivity there is going to be between the station and the hospital. Also, we’re curious to see how this competes with Chicago Fire given that both shows are airing two-hour episodes at the same time. (Gotta love gamesmanship, right?)
