The Resident episode 8 preview: Meet Devon’s parents

The Resident episode 4

Moving into The Resident episode 8 airing on Fox in one week’s time, we are going to have another opportunity to meet a family member. So, who is it this time? Think along the lines of Devon’s parents! This episode is fittingly entitled “Family Affair,” and hopefully with that you’ll see just what mom and dad have to say about both his career and also the way that he is going about some of his business.

Beyond just that, The Resident episode 8 synopsis below suggests that there are going to be a number of other important stories coming up for everyone else as some of them try to figure out how to handle difficult new patients:

Much to Bell’s dismay, Nic and Conrad decide to admit a homeless Jane Doe, whom they suspect was dumped off by another hospital during Chastain’s big Charity Ball. Elsewhere in the hospital, Devon and Irving care for a male escort who offers surprisingly good advice, Micah returns for a checkup and falls even harder for Mina, and Devon’s parents (guest stars Brian George and Zenobia Shroff) are in town in the all-new “Family Affair” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Monday, March 19 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (RES-112) (TV-14 D, L, V)

Perhaps one of the most interesting things about this episode is what is actually found in this said synopsis — the episode number. Apparently, this installment was filmed very close to the end of the season, but for whatever reason is airing out of order. Why is that? Either it is standalone in nature and not really related to some of the other key stories you are going to see, or this is just a situation in which the episode needed to be shot later to coincidence with the availability of someone else either in front or behind the camera.

No matter what, fingers crossed that we continue to see The Resident pick up steam as we do inch ever closer to the finale.
