The Assassination of Gianni Versace episode 8: Matt Bomer directs

Matt Bomer

There are a couple of different things to be interested in when it comes to The Assassination of Gianni Versace episode 8, starting with this one simple fact: We’re almost at the end of the season. Beyond that, there’s also something else exciting here: Getting a chance to see what Matt Bomer brings to the table as director. While this is a role for him behind the camera as opposed to in front of it. We’re excited to see his handiwork, even if to some extent it will probably be crafted in a way that is similar to most of the other episodes you have seen so far. After all, the majority of the time viewers don’t even know who is directing various episodes of television.

Below, the Assassination of Gianni Versace episode 8 synopsis gives you a little more sense as to what’s coming up in terms of the story:

A young Andrew Cunanan struggles with his oppressive father as a young Gianni Versace becomes a designer. Written by Tom Rob Smith and Maggie Cohn; Directed by Matt Bomer.

One of the things that is the most interesting about this episode right now is that we’re getting it so soon to the end, and after we’ve spent so much time seeing the story pushed forward. We’re now jumping back in time. There is a lot of moving around and malleability clearly this season and that could stay this way through the very end.

Bomer’s history with American Crime Story executive producer Ryan Murphy is well-documented, at least in that he worked with him on The Normal Heart in addition to doing a guest spot on Glee and also having a part to play at one point on American Horror Story. His last major TV credit is The Last Tycoon and, whether it be as an actor or a director, we hope that there is a chance to see him again on TV soon.
