When The Blacklist season 5 episode 16 airs on NBC next week, this is going to be an opportunity to learn a little more about the state of the search for Ian Garvey. What is known about this man, at least at present, is fairly clear – he’s in law enforcement and he’s responsible for Tom’s death.
The The Blacklist season 5 episode 16 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below gives you a little more insight as to what is coming up next:
03/14/2018 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : As Liz (Megan Boone) investigates new details in a cold case from her early work as an FBI profiler, she explores her darker impulses in therapy with Dr. Fulton (guest star Martha Plimpton.) The Task Force takes action to bring down Tom’s killers within the legal system, while Red (James Spader) takes a different approach to closing in on Ian Garvey (guest star Jonny Coyne.) TV-14 L, V
This episode is going to be your emotional journey in the head of a man who may be starting to get a little bit desperate. If Ian Garvey has information that could cause Reddington’s secret from his past to come out, what this effectively means is that he could act harshly and do whatever he deems necessary in order to protect his own hide. While James Spader’s character may care about Liz, he also cares about himself. He also seems to be under the belief that this secret getting out is going to shatter any hope of a relationship he could have with Liz and he’s not going to let that happen.
One last thing to note: This episode is going to be seemingly the last one for the month of March. After this, the NBC series is going to head off on hiatus for a little while and when it returns in early April, it will do so by kicking off a run of episodes that lasts presumably through the end of the season. Brace yourself — we just spoke with Amir Arison (Aram) earlier this week, and he suggested that the final stretch of episodes is going to mark a wild ride.
