Once Upon a Time alum Ginnifer Goodwin books new pilot; Granny returning
Goodwin, who starred as Snow through the first six seasons of the ABC series before departing, has now signed on to appear in the family comedy Steps. She is said to be taking on the role of Bea, one of four adults who are working to raise three kids. What’s the twist? Basically, there are two divorces in between all of the adults and these kids may be shuffled frequently through the separate homes. This is certainly a non-traditional comedy, but that should be familiar both to ABC and to Goodwin herself. When it comes to the actress, she has appeared for years on another non-traditional series in Big Love. Meanwhile, the network already has a non-traditional comedy coming in Splitting Up Together, which revolves around a couple who, in the midst of a split, alternates between who gets to live in the house who lives out in the garage.
This series is currently in the pilot phase, so we’ll seewhat happens with it. For now, it has a talented writer at the helm in Kristen Newman (Chuck) and it is based on a Swedish sitcom entitled Bonus Family.
This is the third pilot we’ve heard this spring that will feature a Once Upon a Time cast member. Josh Dallas (who played Charming and is Goodwin’s real-life husband) has signed on to appear in a new drama series; meanwhile, Rebecca Mader is set to appear in an NBC comedy pilot.
Who is officially set to return in the final season?
There is still no word as to whether or not Goodwin or Dallas will be back. However, we do know now that you will be getting a larger dose of Granny! In a new post on Instagram, Beverly Elliot confirmed that she will be bringing back her character, who was at one point a big recurring presence.
