This Is Us season 2 episode 18 (finale) spoilers: Kate and Toby’s wedding

This Is Us season 2 episode 18 airs next week and it almost goes without saying that this is an important episode of the series. After all, this installment serves as the season 2 finale! It’s a huge episode that could be the culmination of two years’ worth of excellent storytelling to date.

So what exactly is coming up over the course of this episode? NBC has not released too much in the way of official details in advance. Yet, it’s already been confirmed in the press that this episode is going to be the one to mark Toby and Kate’s wedding — or at least their attempt to get married. Given that this is a series that has been known to throw a few twists and turns in the past, there’s every reason to worry that something crazy is going to happen here too.

CarterMatt just hopes that no matter what transpires, it doesn’t lead to NBC giving us some terrible tragedy at the end — after everything with Jack’s death, it feels as though the only appropriate way in which to end season 2 is with a celebration and a genuine chance to actually see some of these characters happy again.

Will This Is Us end in a big cliffhanger? There is a big reason to wonder that just because of how long the writers have had to work on this episode. NBC first renewed This Is Us for season 2 as well as season 3 all the way back in January 2017; with that, they may have planned out this finale long in advance in a way that will absolutely keep everyone talking.

Unfortunately, following the conclusion of the finale there is going to be a long wait for season 3. NBC will more than likely launch the next season sometime this September. Stay tuned, as we will continue to bring you scoop on the show.
