TV Madness 2018: Outlander, Chicago Med kicks things off in Round 1
Above, you can see our full bracket, complete with entries, their seeds, and start/end dates. We’ve got a great group of shows taking part this year, with some newbies as well as others who have been a part of the tournament every single year. The voting rules are pretty simple — you can vote however often you would like on however many devices that you would like! In this article, we’re kicking off the actual tournament itself with a showdown between the two-time champion in Outlander up against a series in Chicago Med that we know is going to put up a good fight. Outlander tends to be dominant in many of these early rounds, largely because they have one of the most devoted fan followings out there. Yet, we have seen #1 seeds in TV Madness lose before getting out of the very first round.
With that, let’s get to breaking down these entries further. Voting for this round remains open until Wednesday, March 14 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time.
Outlander (#1 seed) – The #1 seed is one of the most-popular shows in Starz franchise history, and it is known for being epic, breathtaking, dramatic, romantic, and adventurous. Its fans are incredibly passionate for so many reasons, whether it be about the great cast/crew or the imaginative quality of the storytelling. They are going to be formidable opponents to anyone who they come up against in the tournament this year — they have the momentum on their side after proving that they can win this for two years in a row.
Chicago Med (#8 seed) – This is the second year of participation for Chicago Med in the tournament, and it is looking to improve on its showing from last year. Unfortunately, it has the challenge of going up against a show like Outlander with its devoted following. If fans want it to win though, they will have to defeat some of the strongest contenders eventually. Winning this battle would be a tremendous push of momentum for Chicago Med moving into the remainder of the tournament.
