The Alienist episode 8 preview: Sara goes rogue

There are many different events coming on The Alienist episode 8 but based on some of the earliest information that is out there, it looks as though chaos is going to start to reign supreme in the midst of the investigation. Not everyone will be on the same page, secrets will be revealed, and while there may be a commitment in place in order to pursue justice, that does not necessarily mean that everyone is on the same page in the quest to go through with it.

Kreizler (Daniel Brühl) and Moore (Luke Evans) travel to Washington, D.C., Sara (Dakota Fanning) goes rogue in pursuit of the truth. Lucius (Matthew Shear) tells Marcus (Douglas Smith) a secret. Byrnes (Ted Levine) and Connor (David Wilmot) tighten their grip on the investigation.

By the end of The Alienist episode 8 we figure that the pieces are going to start to be in place for the endgame and that some characters will begin to feel like they are (finally) on the cusp of getting some answers.

What are some of the latest ratings?

If you want to get some sort of update on this subject before the episode comes on the air, what we can tell you at the moment is this: The show is entering the home stretch on a ratings upswing. This past episode last week generated a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic; meanwhile, it also posted 1.73 million total viewers, which marks the best numbers for the TNT series overall since the premiere. Hopefully, this positive trajectory will continue — remember that there is no guarantee out there that The Alienist season 1 is the end of this story. If the show ends it can always be called a “limited series” and be left at that. For the time being, though, there is absolutely a hope for a little bit of something more to take place.
