Oscars 2018 red carpet live stream, start time, and more
There are a number of different ways in which you want to watch it, and we absolutely understand this year in particular the desire to find an alternative to E!. The network has made the decision to keep Ryan Seacrest on board the red-carpet pre-show, which means that it is very well possible that celebrities may try to avoid him or use his show to speak their mind against him after the allegations of sexual misconduct intensified earlier this past week.
For those of you who are watching to see whether or not this could happen, Oscar coverage begins on E! starting at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time or 2:00 p.m. Pacific. As of right now, the plan for E! is still to have Seacrest out there.
As for a live stream, the official Oscar stream is going to start at 6:30 p.m. eastern time featuring Sofia Carson and others! You can check that out in a wide array of different places, whether it be the Academy’s Facebook Page or their official website the moment after the awards begin.
As for a live stream of the Oscars themselves…
If you are in America or Canada, check with your local broadcaster to see if they have an option for you to watch live after validating your cable subscription. There are no officially authorized free alternatives, and we’re not in the business of handing out many unauthorized locations since you never know if there could be some sort of spam that comes along with them.
The Oscars themselves will begin tonight in primetime, and are hosted by Jimmy Kimmel once more. At the moment, the most interesting headline coming out of them is that Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty are going to have a shot at some sort of redemption.
