Grey’s Anatomy spin-off Station 19 snags Mistresses alum Brett Tucker

Station 19

The Grey’s Anatomy spin-off Station 19 is now getting closer to being in high demand. After all, we got a chance to see the series lead in Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz) over on the flagship series this past Thursday. She seems to have been well-received, and that sets the stage for her shining in her new role when the new show premieres a little bit later this month.

There is going to be some time in order to learn about some new cast members over the weeks ahead, but today we’ve got some of the latest casting news when it comes to Brett Tucker. According to Deadline, the former Mistresses actor is going to be recurring over the course of some of the season. There isn’t too much said officially about what his role will be as of yet save for what the character’s name is going to be: Ripley. Tucker could end up being a new love interest for a character, a firefighter from another station, or someone who is involved with a rescue. There’s also a chance that he ends up having a larger role over time.

With a new show like this, one of the things that you really do have to prepare for is some steady evolution of some of these characters and also what the series is itself. While both Andy and Ben Warren may be popular characters, nobody quite knows just how most of the other people on the show are going to be received. There could be a little bit of trial and error that goes along with getting this right over time.

Tucker is a great example of yet another Mistresses actor finding great work elsewhere. Jes Macallen is currently playing the part of Ava Sharpe on Legends of Tomorrow; meanwhile, Justin Hartley is firmly in the Emmy race on This Is Us.
