Hulu spoils The Bachelor finale proposal with Arie Luyendyk Jr. early
This weekend, a Peru Travel Guide video on the streaming site revealed in the closing minutes a proposal featuring Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Becca Kurfin, making it official that he, at least at that point, chose her to be the winner of his season. That’s a pretty shocking thing to leak out there, isn’t it? Typically, the proposal is the most important thing of any season and it should be noted that the proposal has already been removed online. (It feels pretty clear though that the damage has already been done.)
The one saving grace for The Bachelor within this instance is just that there is apparently going to be so much more craziness that happens after the fact. That’s stuff we won’t get into since it hasn’t been leaked in the same fashion, but there is a reason why the finale is a whopping FIVE HOURS over the course of two nights. This may go down as the craziest Bachelor finale ever, even surpassing what happened with Jason Mesnick years before. While we know what Jason did was shocking, there are some very clear differences between that and whatever happens with Arie, Becca, and potentially Lauren Burnham here.
1. That finale reunion was taped – The After the Final Rose this year is live, which basically means that this is a situation where almost anything can happen. ABC’s ratings may go off the charts because of this.
2. Twitter wasn’t really a thing way back when – The amount of exposure that this finale event receives is going to far and away surpass whatever happened with Mesnick.
This isn’t the first time that The Bachelor hasn’t even needed someone like Reality Steve to spoil something big on their season — midway during her own season of The Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe accidentally showed herself with Shawn Booth on Snapchat. Producers weren’t happy, but it doesn’t seem as though anything else happened with her.
