Arrested Development season 5: Ron Howard returning as narrator

Arrested Development season 5

Just in case you had any concerns that Ron Howard would not be back narrating on Arrested Development season 5, the following news should ease your soul.

Despite being very busy these days with Solo: A Star Wars Story and other projects, the filmmaking icon confirmed in a post on Twitter that he is contributing to the very-mysterious batch of episodes coming up. While the entire cast is back for Arrested Development, there isn’t much known about the story beyond that it revolves around the death of Liza Minnelli’s Lucille 2. If you want to experience a whodunnit in the crazy, mad-cap way that Arrested Development tends to do things, this season is going to be right up your alley.

Beyond just being excited about that, you should also be rather pleased to know that the majority of the cast will actually be working together this time around. By some miracle, Mitch Hurwitz and the rest of the producers found a time in which the actors were all reasonably available and able to make things work. One of the biggest criticisms of the fourth season years ago was that there was fairly limited screen time for most of the characters together, largely due to the fact that they were all working on other things and that was the only way in which to make things work. When you consider for a moment where Arrested Development is at the moment in its production/post-production process, all signs point to a premiere later this season. Obviously, CarterMatt will offer more news the moment that it comes out.

Netflix doesn’t necessarily have as much of an investment in this show as they once did — remember, Arrested Development was one of their first big acquisitions and an entry point into original scripted programming. Nonetheless, they do still want this to be enormously successful so they will do everything within their power to find the perfect spot for it in the schedule.
