NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 16 spoilers: Callen’s father returns

NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 16

There is a bit of good news and bad news when it comes to NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 16, but let’s start with the good — Callen’s father is coming back! Unfortunately, the bad news here is that he is going to find himself in a little bit of trouble. He’ll be wrapped up in a much larger scheme, and it’s one that could cause Callen to have to get creative in order to resolve it.

We know that there has been some clamoring out there for a more personal story for Callen as of late — and in turn an opportunity to get another great performance from Chris O’Donnell. It’s not fair to really promise anything before seeing this episode play out but for the time being, signs point towards this being it. If you look below at the NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 16 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you, you can see more of the latest scoop regarding what’s coming:

“Warriors of Peace” – Callen pursues every alternative when the Diplomatic Security Service apprehends his father, Nikita Aleksandr Reznikov (Daniel J. Travanti), as part of an exchange for two American photographers being held hostage in Iran, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Sunday, March 25 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

On the surface this story is 100% everything that we want from NCIS: Los Angeles in that it offers up an opportunity to get to see this character front and center while also raising some questions regarding just how we’re going to see his father find safety. We do think that with some of these characters, there has to be a degree of fatigue — even if you’re doing a high-octane job with plenty of action at the center of it, things start to blend together. There’s something about taking on a case like this that is so personal that could aid in invigorating you to a certain degree.
