The Good Fight season 2: Bebe Neuwirth reprises The Good Wife role
According to Entertainment Weekly, Neuwirth is set to appear as the Hon. Claudia Friend, which will begin streaming its second season this upcoming Sunday. This marks her return as Hon. Claudia Friend as she first appeared in the role back in 2012-2013 on the parent series of The Good Fight, The Good Wife.
Neuwirth previously starred on the CBS hit show Madam Secretary as Nadine Tolliver, the Chief of Staff to the Secretary of State. Neuwirth caught fans off guard early during the season when she announced she was leaving the show. It was her desire to leave the show and she was not forced out. Again, this is something we were happy to hear because it’s never great to hear an actor or actress was not asked back or fired by the network. Neuwirth made a statement to go along with her departure from the CBS; her character’s final episode was on October 22. Here was Nadine’s famous line stated within that episode:
“I love public service, but it’s gotten so vicious. Somehow, we’ve become our own worst enemy. And I don’t want to spend the rest of my career fighting.”
As far as The Good Fight goes, the new season will tackle a real-world situation that will hit fans close to home. In Season 2 “the lives of lawyers are being threatened by bitter clients and Diane Lockhart’s (Christine Baranski) firm will audition for the chance to help impeach Donald Trump.”
Obviously this is going to be a season that hits close to home because it isn’t taking a real world situation and putting a spin on it. Instead this season will take real-life person and a person who divides this country and tell a story some may or may not actually want to happen. So we are excited to see where this is going to go.
