Below, there are two specific castings that we want to highlight mostly because we appreciate some of their work on other shows.
Violett Beane – Best known for playing Jesse Quick on The Flash and also Lily on The Resident, Beane is going to be appearing on the upcoming dramedy God Friended Me from executive producer Greg Berlanti (also from The Flash). According to a report coming in from Deadline, Brandon Michael Hall of The Mayor is leading the way on this CBS dramedy as a man named Miles, an atheist who finds his life turned upside down thanks to God.
Beane’s role is that of a magazine writer, someone with a sharp wit and intelligence who comes across Miles early on in the series.
James Roday – Meanwhile, the Psych star is going to be appearing (also per Deadline) in ABC’s A Million Little Things, a series about living your life to the fullest that feels a lot like this network’s version of This Is Us. It revolves around a group of friends who need to rethink much of their lives after losing someone they care about.
Roday is going to play on this series a man named Gary, someone who has a habit of dancing around subjects and sleeping around. He’s now facing what could very well be an interesting wake-up call as he has to figure out just what the remainder of his life could look like.
What does this mean for Jesse Quick / the future of Psych?
Nothing definitive. They still are going to have chance to pursue some other opportunities in the months that these shows aren’t filming — provided, of course, that these shows end up making it to series. If they don’t, of course their schedules will be free for all sorts of roles in the future.
