This Is Us season 2 episode 17 preview: Deja’s spotlight story

This Is Us season 2 episode 17 carries with it an interesting title: “This Big, Beautiful, Amazing Life.” What are we going to see during it? Think along the lines of a spotlight story surrounding Deja, a character who we’ve come to know off and on throughout this season. She’s someone who has been through quite a bit and the hope here is clear: There will be a chance for her to find some stability. Maybe that’s with Randall, or maybe she does somehow manage to find it somewhere else. Either way, the most important thing is that this character does figure out some way in which to secure her future.

All signs point towards this episode being somewhat similar to the Dr. K episode from the first season — we’re not taking a break per se from the rest of the story, but we are somewhat expanding the universe.

There’s really not a whole lot to go on here, is there? With that in mind, it’s best to just keep the speculation small other than that signs point towards this being a Deja episode — that is the news, at least right now, that is already out there.

So what’s coming on the other side of this episode? Well, there’s really only one more installment on the other side of this story. Based on some of the early information that is out there about the finale (read some more news over at the link here), it looks as though the main focus is going to be on the wedding of Kate and Toby. That has been a long time coming and we’re absolutely excited to see what that looks like — hopefully. There is also a good chance that things go off the rails and we end up being both surprised and fairly heartbroken at the end of the season. One way or another, we do envision that a big cliffhanger is coming in the future.
