NCIS season 15 episode 16 preview: Drew Carey’s story in ‘Handle With Care’

Following tonight’s story featuring Gabriel Hicks, NCIS season 15 episode 16 next week is going to give you a chance to see something totally different — including a big-name guest star in Drew Carey! The former Drew Carey Show star and Price Is Right host is going to make a rare foray into drama this episode; in the process, we’re going to have a chance to see him be accused of a particularly heinous crime. The hope here is that 1) Carey’s John Ross is innocent and that 2) Gibbs is going to be able to prove that to everyone else. We imagine that this is going to be an entertaining episode from start to finish and we’re absolutely excited to watch all of it play out.

Below, the NCIS season 15 episode 16 synopsis below offers up some more insight as to what you can expect to see:

Handle With Care” – Gibbs and the team work to clear the name of retired Marine Sergeant John Ross (THE PRICE IS RIGHT host Drew Carey) when cyanide is found in one of the hundreds of care packages he sends to active-duty Marines, on NCIS, Tuesday, March 6 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. In real life, guest star Drew Carey served in the Marine Reserves for six years.

This episode is a chance for Carey to honor some of his military history by playing a character who has his own history with the Marinez. Meanwhile, it’s also just a chance for there to be an interesting case. When you think about the fact that NCIS airs 24 episodes a season, at least, what that means is that there are opportunities to take some chances and bring in guest stars that you wouldn’t expect to see. Carey is certainly one of the most unexpected, at least in terms of the ones that are not obvious stunts to promote other CBS properties. (We consider this somewhat different than Tony Gonzalez showing up for some special cameo appearances in the past — Carey is playing a real role, one intended to last longer than just a few seconds.)
