The Alienist episode 7 preview: Sara confronts her past

The Alienist episode 7 is airing on TNT next week, and with that you’re going to get a chance to see a little bit of answers. Not only that, but there will be opportunities to actually learn more about some of these different characters.

Below, The Alienist episode 7 synopsis offers up some more insight regarding what is coming up next, whether it be some more insight into Sara’s headspace or also Marcus and Lucius actually making a little bit of headway:

Kreizler (Daniel Brühl) and Moore (Luke Evans) follow a lead. Sara (Dakota Fanning) visits a hospital and is forced to confront her past. Cyrus (Robert Ray Wisdom), Kreizler’s carriage driver, recovers from his injuries. Byrnes (Ted Levine) and Connor (David Wilmot) plot against the team. Detectives Marcus (Douglas Smith) and Lucius Isaacson (Matthew Shear) work on a clue.

To date, The Alienist has relied on a somewhat-steady, methodical approach to getting the story out there — we do think the pace will pick up even more at this point given that we are so close to the end of the road.

What are the state of the Alienist season 1 ratings?

We’re doing our best to offer up more information on these every week and, so far, the news is one again pretty good. Last week’s episode generated yet another 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and while it did generate the lowest overall total viewer count of the season (1.59 million), we do hope that there are going to be an increase now that the series is not going to have the challenge of airing directly opposite some other competition including the Olympics.

We’ve stated this a couple of times already but it bears repeating — while The Alienist has the architecture in some ways of a limited series there is still hope that the series is going to be coming back for something more down the road. If the ratings and the reception stay great, there is a perfectly good reason to have hope for the future of the show.
