Big Brother Canada 6 pre-game interview: Meet Michael Jakobczak, part of this season’s twist

Michael Jakobczak

Welcome to our Big Brother Canada 6 pre-game interview series! We recently had a chance to speak with the houseguests leading up to the start of this new season, premiering on Global on March 7, as we’ve done years in the past. The goal this year was to find out a little bit about these players strategically, but also a little more about them as people. We want to know why they’re going to be interesting personalities to watch over the coming months and where they are coming from.

If you want to get some other Big Brother Canada pre-game interviews, you can do so by visiting this link.

In this article, the focus is on Michael Jakobczak, a man who enters this game with life experience and also a very high opinion of himself. He’s used to success and living the life on the outside — is he really going to adjust to being locked up with a bunch of Big Brother super-fans? He is one of the contestants this season who will have to wait and see if he gets into the house due to Canada’s vote. From now until March 8 you can vote over at the show’s official site to see who you want to make it into the game. There are two “angels” and two “devils” in the mix, and Michael is identified as one of the devils. Two houseguests will end up joining the remaining players this season.

Take a look at the pre-game interview below.

CarterMatt – Tell me about yourself — your name, your age, and where you’re from.

Michael Jakobczak – Michael’s the name, I’m 33 and I’m born and raised in Toronto.

What do you do for a living?

I’m in real estate. I’m in sales.

What made you want to be on Big Brother Canada this season?

I’m a fan of the show. Being a licensed agent plays into the different things that Big Brother is — manipulating, networking, and all that. It plays into my strengths, what I do on the daily. I’m fascinated with it.

Who are you most like from past Big Brother seasons, US or Canada?

I love Kevin’s play because he’s very analytical. I love looking at him and seeing that he’s four steps ahead. I also love watching Cassandra and Ika. They’re a little bit more colorful when it comes to dealing with people.

What’s the one part of your life at home you’re going to miss the most in the game?

I’m going to miss my lifestyle, because I have a pretty good lifestyle in Toronto. Typically you can find me at any Raptors home game or any nice restaurant or in the social nightlife in Toronto.

How are you going to keep live feed viewers at home entertained?

My life, to me, is like a movie. There’s never a dull moment in my life, so anyone tuning in is always going to be entertained. I’m always talking game or doing something. You’ve gotta be entertaining since otherwise, you’re going to go crazy in a house full of random people.

Besides the money, what are you hoping to get out of this season?

I’m just hoping to showcase my skills. I think highly of what I do for a living and how I do it. This is a chance to put my skills to the test and show everyone what I can do.

First Impressions

There’s no doubt Michael has the skill set to play this game well; he’s just going to be a little too transparent with how good he is and how highly he views himself. The difference between him and Kevin is that while Kevin can present himself as confident, it doesn’t border into cocky as much as it does with Michael. That could be his trouble spot.
