The Voice season 14 video: Kelly Clarkson’s journey as a coach!

Kelly Clarkson is the newest coach on The Voice season 14, and there is a lot to like about her coming on board!

In the new video below, you get a chance to hear from Kelly about what a day of filming the show is like, and also some of what her relationships are with some of the other coaches.

While we know that a lot has been said out there already about “oh, Kelly has already done this” in terms of her being a worthy coach for the show, we don’t actually think that her doing American Idol a decade and a half ago is really all that useful. Her merit on this show doesn’t actually have anything to do with her winning that show at all. It’s more about what she has done since, whether it be release many hit songs, have albums that sell millions of copies, and being able to travel the world while also staying true to yourself.

The biggest problem that The Voice suffers from is that there’s no adequate support system for artists after the fact. They come through, they win a season, and then on the other side of that you have almost no clue at all as to who they are. If we told you to name the last three winners who would be able to do that without batting an eye? The merit of Kelly, and the reason why contestants should choose her, is that she can actually help artists navigate out they can remain in the spotlight after the show. She knows what that experience is like and how it is really the most important part of your career. Even if you just have one song after the fact that becomes a hit, that song can carry you forever. Kelly of course had far more than just one hit, but in general terms that’s really all you need.
