Scorpion season 4 episode 17 video: The beginnings of ‘Dumbster Fire’

Scorpion season 4 episode 17

Scorpion season 4 episode 17, entitled “Dumbster Fire,” is going to be airing on CBS on Monday night. This is an episode that will be full of some ridiculous team moments, but through many of them we may get a reminder of one thing above all else: There are several different ways in which to chart genius. It’s not all just about what your IQ supposedly is.

The start of this peek gives you a little introduction into the episode’s central conflict: Paige’s frustration that Walter’s brain-power causes her problems in her social life. She had him over for game night with some of her friends, and he spent the majority of said night refusing to “dumb himself down” to adhere to their own intelligence. Basically, he was a heel when he really didn’t need to be and that’s something that they are going to have to work through.

Is it Paige’s job to make Walter more socially acceptable while on the job? Sure, but supposedly that’s where this responsibility ends. If she has to continue to be responsible for his bheavior in their private time as well that sets the stage for a very different dynamic that could cause their relationship to fall apart before it gets any deeper.

Let’s be clear, though — we don’t think the two are near breakup territory just yet. This episode could actually teach the two a little bit of empathy. Many members of Team Scorpion are going to be sent off on a mission in which they encounter a strange gas that basically takes almost all of their intelligence away. As a result of that, Paige is going to have to step up and be not only the voice of reason, but also the voice of logic. She is going to end up being the intelligent one while the remainder of the team has to listen to her and follow her orders. It’s a fun role-reversal and something that this show should try every now and then to balance things out between all of the characters. It’s been proven time and time again that Paige is a valuable member of Team Scorpion, but this proves it on yet another level.
