TV Revivals results: Hannibal steamrolls its way into final round

The following news shouldn’t be too much of a surprise in the event you love Hannibal and have been a CarterMatt reader for some time now: The former NBC show has made it into the final round of our ongoing TV Revivals series!

While there were a few votes that went to some of the other candidates in the poll first created this past week, it’s hard to call the win for Hannibal anything short of dominant. The series drew an overwhelming majority of votes, which should in turn signal something: Fannibals really want to see the series back on the air! It’s had a long journey already and it feels like it’s far from over. The story as told in The Silence of the Lambs has yet to be touched on within the series, let alone everything that is following it up. We know that there is freedom now for Hannibal to find a new home, but it just hasn’t been able to do that just yet.

If you go and read our specific TV Revivals feature on Hannibal from this past weekend, one of the things that you’re going to see in there is a focus on cable networks more so than we’ve had in the past few years. While Netflix has moved away from reviving shows as of late, think for a moment about a network in FX that could use another marquee hit with The Americans going off the air. Or, think about one in AMC that seems like a perfect fit content-wise? USA is also intriguing given that they are within the same parent company as the network that originally gave Hannibal a chance in the first place. These networks would allow Hannibal to be a little bit edgier than it was on NBC without it changing and becoming a different show than it originally was.

The one last order of business to take on when it comes to Hannibal is pretty darn simple: Throwing the series into the grand finale of our TV Revivals series. The final poll of the month will begin this afternoon and feature Hannibal up against the other two winners.

Congrats, of course, to all Hannibal fans! Now, let’s hope that there is going to be a season 4.
