Lost in Space trailer: Netflix releases first look at sci-fi remake
Take a look at the attached synopsis for more insight as to what to expect:
“In the year 2046, The Robinson Family and the spaceship Jupiter 2, one of several Jupiter ships, encounters a rip in spacetime and crashes on an unknown planet. Stranded light years from their intended destination, the Robinsons and other colonists marooned with them battle a strange new alien environment and their own personal demons as they attempt to leave the planet.”
The trailer begins with a woman telling the audience that Earth will also be home to humanity, but it will only be our home as long as we are safe. So what happens when it is no longer safe? We are shown images of natural disasters that have caused devastation throughout the world. As the woman talks and these images are displayed in front of our eyes, we get this scared feeling and we begin to think. Where will go if an even bigger disaster strikes? This is what the Robinson family is setting out to do. Their mission is to find another home for humanity.
As the family boards Jupiter 2, a voice calls out to the son named Will. He turns out around as the ship’s door closes and we are left with an eerie feeling that something isn’t right. The screen fades to black and we have a feeling this trailer isn’t over.
Suddenly, we see there’s some type of malfunction and the Robinsons are in trouble. Now the first look is over and we wanted to see more. Overall, the trailer introduced the story without giving anything way and left us wanting to mark our calendars.
The series stars Toby Stephens of Black Sails as John Robinson, the expedition commander. Molly Parker as Maureen Robinson, a fearless and brilliant aerospace engineer who makes the decision to bring her family to space for a chance at a new life on a better world. Ignacio Serricchio as Don West, a roughneck smuggling luxury goods on the side who finds in the Robinsons the family he never thought he would find. Taylor Russell and Mina Sundwall as Judy and Penny Robinson, respectively. Rounding out the group is Maxwell Jenkins as Will Robinson.
