Outlander season 4 spoiler talk: What the recent on-set sighting means

Watch the Outlander season 3 premiere

Before we dive too much further into this Outlander season 4 piece, we should note that there are BOOK SPOILERS AHEAD. If you watch the series only and you don’t want to be spoiled as to major events that are coming, stop reading down.

If you still want to know about some events in season 4 filming, we’ve still got the hookup for you over here! We’ve done our best in order to ensure that there is some good stuff still for you to check out.

Still with us? If so, let’s go ahead and discuss the Brianna of it all…

We don’t think that it’s altogether that big of a spoiler that Sophie Skelton’s character is going back in time. Even some casual viewers who have heard about the books from their friends are probably well aware of it. We just like to be safe here for the select few who don’t know. For everyone else, we imagine that it must have been a thrill this week to see Skelton filming some of her scenes as Bree in the past for the first time. You’re going to have a chance to see how she adapts to being in that era, which we imagine will be a rather-startling transition for her. This seemingly isn’t something that she ever discussed all that much with her mother (in season 3, Bree never showed much of an interest in traveling back), but she does at least have a historian on her side in Roger. She’s wearing what appears to be the perfect period garb and there could be some friendly faces awaiting her back in time. Steven Cree (Ian Murray) has already been spotted on set alongside Nell Hudson (Laoghaire). While the relationship between Laoghaire and Claire is certainly dodgy, we want to at least hope that she could show some element of kindness to Jamie’s daughter if their paths collide … maybe we’re asking for a little too much here, but it would certainly be nice.

These scenes with Brianna will hopefully set the stage for the meeting we really want to see between Brianna and Jamie — to us, that’s probably the most-anticipated sole event on Outlander since the Print Shop. Jamie loves her, but he’s also never had the chance to actually meet her and we envision that relationship being incredibly interesting to watch.

Based on where Outlander is in filming at the moment, don’t expect some of the scenes being filmed with Skelton to air until we get around to the halfway point in the season.
