Criminal Minds season 13 spoilers: Big Kirsten Vangsness – Garcia episode coming

Kirsten Vangsness

If you love episodes of Criminal Minds that are character-focused and give some of the cast opportunities to shine, the following news revolving around Kirsten Vangsness should very much make you smile.

According to a report from TVLine, the series is poised to hand over a huge episode coming up to Kirsten Vangsness and her character of Penelope Garcia. As to what’s happening within in it, here’s some of what you need to know: There is a parole hearing held for the drunk driver who is responsible for killing her parents; in turn, this is going to bring up a lot of old emotions. Meanwhile, her estranged stepbrother is also going to come back into the picture in order to convince her to testify. This is going to be emotional, so much so that we wish Derek Morgan was there to lend a shoulder. (Unfortunately, we haven’t heard anything on that.)

Interestingly, this upcoming episode is the second time this season in which we’ve seen the Garcia character have some sort of visitor from her past. Remember what happened earlier this season with the return of Jamie Kennedy?

There are many priorities in general that we’re going to be seeing over the remainder of season 13, especially with Linda Barnes now present at the BAU. There are absolutely some reasons to be worried over the future of Emily Prentiss based on the way that the last episode of the show ended; we’ve got a somewhat-serialized story that will probably carry through at least some of the upcoming episodes; beyond that, there will of course still be UnSubs to take down. Life never really slows down when you are in the BAU.

Hopefully, this big Kirsten Vangsness episode is a suggestion that there are some other big episodes coming for a few other characters, as well.
