CBS has lifted the veil on who will be the next star of Magnum PI — provided of course that the show is picked up to series.

Former Scandal, Last Resort, and Gang Related actor Jay Hernandez is set to appear in the remake of the classic series as the title character Thomas Magnum, a man who is returning home after his time in Afghanistan in order to become a private investigator. This series will contain many different callbacks to the original, and beyond that there is certainly the right man for the job on board in Peter M. Lenkov. He’s already successfully has some success with some other remakes including Hawaii Five-0 and MacGyver.
