Vikings notes: Latest from Katheryn Winnick, Alex Høgh Andersen

Vikings notes

Who wants to check out some of the latest Vikings notes? With the show being off the air right now there’s not as much to share when it comes to headlines, but we do think there’s value in discussing what’s ahead!

Let’s begin with a few more reminders (via Instagram) as to what Katheryn Winnick is doing behind the scenes as the director for season 6 — she’s continued working hard on her episode over the past while and we imagine that this is going to continue through post-production. She also opens up in one post about some of the challenges that she faced coming into the gig — she wanted to test herself and expand her horizons. What better way to do that than getting more involved in production? As a former film director, it’s especially impressive if she is also directing herself (there’s no guarantee that Lagertha is alive at this point in the series, we just hope that she is). Directing yourself is a feat that not many people can do, but with Winnick knowing the material as well as she does, we know that she would kill it in both roles of director and actor.

Winnick’s episode could air as early as late this year or in early 2019. There are so many different schedule times to work out here that it may take a little bit in order to figure out when the right time is for Vikings season 6 to come on the air. We still have to get through ten more episodes of season 5!

Alex Høgh Andersen’s reminder

While there’s nothing altogether new in the HBO Nordic preview that Andersen showed for the second half of Vikings season 5, consider this more validation that the remaining ten episodes this season are premiering later this season.

Our anticipation is that at some point later this spring, we’re going to get a little more insight regarding when the second half of Vikings season 5 is going to be back. Let’s hope that there is some more news on this subject before we get to the summer and the wait starts to become unbearable for new epsiodes.
