Animal Kingdom season 3 promo hints at Baz’s fate, Smurf in prison

Scott Speedman leaving

TNT has unveiled the first Animal Kingdom season 3 promo and all signs seem to be hinting at one thing — more danger. Just because season 2 ended with Smurf in prison does not exactly mean that the rest of the characters on the outside are out of the woods.

In this promo, you see Smurf handing down some pretty significant warnings, while at the same time the other side of the season 2 finale suggests that Baz is, at least for the time being, still within the land of the living.

While we know that there are many other characters that need to be addressed when it comes to Animal Kingdom, at present we do think that Baz is the one whose status brings about the greatest overall intrigue. With Scott Speedman recently being cast over on Grey’s Anatomy there is talk about him being written out of Animal Kingdom at some point — that doesn’t bode well for Baz’s future, but it’s also not a death sentence. It’s just something to keep in mind as you prepare for season 3 … which you really should, given that this is one of the most intense action dramas of its kind. You’re not going to find much else this intense and layered on standard cable TV, and of course we’re looking forward to bringing you even more updates and scoop as we get a little bit closer to Animal Kingdom season 3 premiering.

Hopefully, Animal Kingdom season 3 also brings some more stability when it comes to the ratings. The numbers for season 2 were down around 10% versus season 1 in the 18-49 demographic, and that’s a pretty stable decrease. If those numbers fall about the same for season 3, there is a good chance the show may be in some trouble.
