Outlander perspectives: Your favorite season 3 scene is…

What was the greatest scene throughout Outlander season 3? This was a question with a fairly obvious answer but sometimes said obvious answer does not always end up being the right one! That’s why we posed this question to CarterMatt readers in the latest edition of our Outlander perspectives article series, and we did get a variety of interesting answers back.

Yet, there is of course no real reason to beat around the bush here when the end result of the poll we posted is not exactly much of a surprise.

CarterMatt readers’ favorite Outlander season 3 scene is the Print Shop reunion with Jamie and Claire.

Obviously, this was the scene that the vast majority of fans were looking forward to more than any other, and really for good reason given that the Print Shop reunion represented an opportunity for Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe’s characters to reconnect after spending the better part of two decades apart. It was passionate, romantic, heartfelt, but also funny here and there. It presented a flurry of different emotions and that, in turn, is one of the reasons why it was so exciting. It’s really not all that often you get a chance to see a series pack so many different things into a single scene and Outlander pulled all of that off.

While it may have been the clear favorite of this poll going in, the reason why this result is still significant is that it shows the producers that they met the expectation of so many fans expecting one of the biggest, most-romantic moments of the entire series.

As for some other results…

In second place was Jamie spending time with William in “Of Lost Things,” which we consider to be a true testament to Sam Heughan’s performance — for just a few minutes, he helped everyone forget that we weren’t at the Print Shop just yet. In third place was another iconic Jamie / Claire moment in the Turtle Soup scene, which was funny, and certainly still passionate. (Love scenes between Jamie and Claire are, unsurprisingly, rather popular.)
