Outlander Valentine’s Day video, featuring Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and more, is amazing

Starz unveiled a new Outlander Valentine’s Day video featuring some of their cast, and if you haven’t seen it yet it may be the single funniest Outlander-related thing that we’ve seen with the show so far this year.

While we don’t want to spoil everything that is in this video, CarterMatt will offer up the top three things we found especially hilarious. We can probably watch this three or four more times and find a few other things worth laughing about.

3. The sheer amount of innuendo that is present here, whether it be Sam Heughan talking about giving Claire a pearl necklace to Lauren Lyle and Cesar Domboy talking about washing Fergus’ stump.

2. John Bell doing a segment about his love story with the barmaid all by himself.

1. Richard Rankin totally committing to this bit about a special breakfast that Roger made for Brianna, one in which he made the eggs appear heart-shaped. Everything about this, from his devotion to telling this story to Sophie Skelton’s facial reactions to it, is nothing short of glorious.

Given the sheer lack of Outlander footage over the past couple of weeks it feels almost like an understatement to say that we welcomed this. We laughed throughout the video and we can only hope that there is even more great stuff in this vein coming up in the future. The best thing that Starz really can do to promote their show at this point is embrace and celebrate some of the chemistry that they have with the people who are already a part of the cast.

New episodes of Outlander are going to premiere on Starz later this year, and of course we’re going to be here every step of the way in order to offer more insight on what’s ahead — hopefully we’ll get some more fun videos like this. Starz recognizes that the romance is one of the most important facets of the series and we don’t think that they’ll drift too far away from that anytime soon. If they continue to add humor to their promotional strategy, even better.
