Chicago Med: what will Dr. Sarah Reese’s recovery be like?

Sarah Reese

Our next Chicago Med spotlight is about Dr. Sarah Reese. For the course of this season, Sarah has truly been put through the ringer. She started out as a resident in psychiatry, and she appeared to be tackling the challenge of the her new specialty with a confidence. However, this quickly changed this season when Dr. Charles was shot and Sarah’s car was repeatedly broken into. She began to feel unsafe and distanced herself from Dr. Charles and their patients.

So, going forward, here’s a couple of things we’d like to see.

Sarah continue to conquer her fear – In “On Shaky Ground”, Sarah went to a prison with Dr. Charles in order to do some check ups on a few patients, and while there she came face to face with a prisoner that bring all her fears back. As Emergency Medicine resident, she never had to face the same type of challenges. However, this episode was a turning point for her because she not only conquered her fear, but it showed us what kind of doctor Sarah is going to be. She’s the type who can deep down help her patients, despite feeling scared sometimes. The trick, she learned, is that you can’t let that fear show. We also know people don’t just get over these kind of things, and that’s why we want to see more of her recovery. To continue to see her transition into a strong psychiatrist is amazing to watch so we want to more of this.

Sarah and Noah – At the end of Season 2, the show hinted that Noah and Sarah may be the next couple to cheer for. We haven’t seen them together, and we aren’t surprised given the story going on. Now that Sarah’s inter demons are disappearing, maybe the writers will begin to introduce them again. To let fans know, we don’t want to see them suddenly get together and we aren’t saying that Sarah needs a man. What would be interesting to see is some flirting or just teasing. The ER is such a traumatic and serious atmosphere that some flirting or teasing would provide some comic relief. If the writers do eventually put them together than we look forward to seeing that too.
