Love Grace and Frankie? Then you will be pleased to know that the Jane Fonda – Lily Tomlin series is coming back for a fifth season!
Netflix confirmed the glorious news of the show’s return on Wednesday; the latest batch of episodes will premiere in 2019, more than likely in the early going since we’re not sure Grace and Frankie fans could take that long of a wait in between.
To go along with the renewal news, how about this to be excited about — RuPaul is also going to guest star! The RuPaul’s Drag Race host and entertainment icon will be coming on board as Benjamin Le Day, described in a press release as “a formidable and quick-witted adversary who faces off with Grace and Frankie.” Basically, we imagine that his appearance is going to lead to all sorts of fun.
While Grace and Frankie may not be the flashiest series that exists on Netflix’s lineup, we do still think that it has a lot that is going for it. It’s not a show that they need to aggressively promote, for starters, given it has a loyal following that it’s able to maintain without all much effort. We also think that it’s a show that still has a reasonably long life. We don’t see the series slowing down until either Fonda or Tomlin decide that they’re done. We think that, for now, they love making the series — as a matter of fact, they seem to love the show so much that they’ve advocated for doing more episodes at a faster clip than they have in the past.
For now, let’s just celebrate that we’re getting that season 5 — there will be plenty of time to think about season 5 down the road.
