Could a Sneaky Pete season 3 renewal happen not long after premiere?

Sneaky Pete season 3

Can you believe that we’re now less than a month away from the Sneaky Pete season 2 premiere? it’s been a long wait for new episodes, but that wait is almost at an end.

We know a little bit about what to expect on this upcoming season thanks to a recent trailer; now, it feels like the right time to wonder a little bit more in terms of what to expect next season. There is no Sneaky Pete season 3 renewal just yet, and it’s obviously premature to say that we’re going to get one given that we haven’t even seen the show. Yet, for some reason we still have a lot of optimism for what’s coming! A big part of the reason why is probably due to the popularity of season 1 coupled with the enthusiasm we’re seeing online for season 2.

It’s really appropriate that Sneaky Pete has the word “sneaky” in the title because that is almost the perfect way to describe some of its trajectory. This is not a show that is getting an enormous amount of attention from the media, at least in comparison to some other streaming series on Netflix or Amazon. yet, at the same time it proved with season 1 that it doesn’t need some huge avalanche of buzz or critical acclaim in order to cement its position.

If there is one reason for hesitancy on a renewal, it could just be the change of brass at the top when it comes to Amazon’s original programming. Following the exit of Roy Price we saw multiple series get canceled, including one we really loved in Jean-Claude Van Johnson. Yet, we’re confidence that the incoming programming head in Jennifer Salke (formerly of NBC) will see the merits of keeping this show around. It does fit into the strategy of what Amazon is going for in big, ambitious series that play well with large global audiences.
