If you recall, at the end of this past episode Alex hopped aboard a plane to Moscow, and judging from the sneak peek below he’s successfully made it there. However, it doesn’t appear as though he is either altogether happy or at peace. Instead, the character finds himself being interrogated. First, he wants to speak to the British Consulate. After that, he wants to see a lawyer — unfortunately, his pleas fall on deaf ears as he realizes that there really isn’t any hope of that. There’s no incentive for anyone to be nice to him or to help him in this instance; nobody really knows that he is there and with that, most of his leverage is gone. He just has to figure out a way in which to make this situation work for him to the best of his ability.
Obviously, the good news for Alex is that he has proven himself to be rather sly on a few occasions this season so far, and it would be wrong to completely rule him out either. It’s possible that he comes up with a creative way to get out of this situation. Or, it’s also possible that he just weasels his way out of this because of some factors that are completely out of his control. Either way, the primary function of this new preview is to serve mostly as a reminder of the sort of danger Alex is in. We do think an easy conclusion to this season (and likely the series) would be for the character to die, but that in some ways feels a little too easy. It’s almost more dramatic if there is a different way everything falls apart that causes some interesting twists and turns to take place.
Of course, we’re going to discuss everyone both within this sneak peek and beyond on Sunday when the McMafia finale airs in full.
