Vikings season 6 photo: Katheryn Winnick directs co-stars
In the two posts below via the series star’s post on Instagram, you can see Winnick alongside Marco Ilsø (Hvitserk) alongside Alexander Ludwig (Bjorn) while serving in her role as director. Winnick started work on her episode early last month, while filming picked up a little bit more recently. These images give you a good sense of at least two people who are a part of her episode, even though it’s still unknown publicly if she will be directing herself at any point.
The value in getting so many behind-the-scenes teases from Winnick this past month goes beyond just building hype around the show and hype around her character. It also serves as a way for all those curious about the TV business to know the sort of time and effort that goes into making an individual episode. Just think about how long Winnick has been working on this episode, and then multiply that twenty more times. That’s the amount of time and effort that goes into making a show like Vikings! To call that intense still doesn’t it feel like we’re giving the work justice. This is intensive and exhausting work that some of these directors are doing. It’s another explanation as to why there needs to be so many of them over the course of a single season.
Hopefully, we’ll have news whenever the filming portion of Winnick’s Vikings season 6 episode is complete, but beyond that you better be prepared for production to still continue for a rather long time still. There are months more to go before things start to wrap up; hopefully, this season will premiere at the end of the year and the final ten episodes will premiere on History this summer. That’s at least the timeline that we’ve got for things at present.
