Shadowhunters season 3 episode 1 spoilers: Magnus, Clary’s secrets

Shadowhunters season 3 episode 1

Shadowhunters season 3 episode 1 will be coming your way on Tuesday, March 20, but you don’t have to wait any longer to get some of the first information! The folks over at Freeform shared some new scoop on the premiere episode this week, even earlier than we really anticipated.

Below, you can see a little bit of information regarding everyone from Clary to Magnus to of course the new Big Bad Lilith, who is going to be played by Anna Hopkins and seems reasonably formidable based on the trailer that is out there:

“Secrets abound as the Shadowhunters and Downworlders try to get back to normal after Valentine’s death. Clary struggles with keeping her secret about Raziel’s wish, while Alec pushes Jace to come clean about whatever Jace and Clary are hiding. Luke must use tough love to keep his secret hidden from Ollie who is on a war path for answers. And Magnus hides his true feelings about his new position in the Warlock community from Alec.

“Meanwhile, Lilith sets a plan in motion in New York City as Simon spends time in the Seelie Court.”

Why the secret-keeping?

We wonder that all across the board at this moment, whether it be with Clary, Magnus, or anyone else. This is a world that’s been established as cruel, dangerous, and very difficult to survive in at times. We wouldn’t prioritize keeping secrets at all since it never really works. Then again, we’re not a Shadowhunter last we checked. Maybe there is something about being in this position that festers insecurity and makes you feel like the only way that you can survive is to keep a secret from someone.

Ultimately, be prepared for an epic series of showdowns in the opening episodes of this season, and there are absolutely going to be some more surprises and secrets that come out over time as this season gets further along into its story. We’ll have more scoop along the way.
