MasterChef Junior season 6 video: Joe Bastianich returns!
Remember Joe? We know the restaurateur very well for being the harsh judge on the earlier seasons of the series. He was the guy who would often throw plates of food in the garbage and hold NOTHING back when it comes to his take on some of the food being presented.
Could that happen again? Well, not with this show. This is a kinder, gentler MasterChef, and we’re glad to see him back here — it’s almost like the calm before the storm if he ends up returning to MasterChef proper at some point down the line.
The video below is a nice reintroduction to Joe alongside returning judges Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi; in the end, though, this show isn’t really about just these three. It’s more about the contestants who come from all over America to try and win the prize. It’s their humor and effort that makes this show super-memorable … to go along with the notion that there are few other shows out there that make you feel anywhere near as guilty about your cooking ability or lack thereof.

We’ll see what this season looks like next month, but the series will be kicking off with a two-hour premiere! That should be the perfect way to dive into the series and get invested in the contestants. Hopefully, that investment will carry through to the rest of the season. (Don’t worry — we’re going to have more coverage of the series throughout the season.)
The latest season of MasterChef proper could premiere at some point during the summer.
