Chicago PD alum Sophia Bush lands new guest-starring gig — see where!

Sophia Bush

Following her role as Erin Lindsay for years on Chicago PDwe now know where Sophia Bush is going to be heading next.

According to a new report from TV Guide, Bush is going to be guest-starring in an upcoming episode of Alex Inc., the new ABC comedy premiering next month starring former Scrubs star Zach Braff. This is a comedy set within the world of start-ups, and Sophia is going to be appearing on this show as Vanessa Stanhope. She is a popular radio host who ends up having some tension with Braff’s character of Alex. There is no specific air date as of yet for Bush’s appearance, but nonetheless there is some cause for excitement right now.

Perhaps the thing that has us the most psyched about this gig is an opportunity to see Bush have an opportunity to do something totally different from playing Lindsay. Alex Inc. is a lighter, funnier show that will give her a chance to be someone not as hardened and gritty.

For Sophia, this is also a valuable stepping stone given that she recently signed a production deal and is developing some of her own projects in the future. We don’t think she has to prove anything when it comes to her diversity as an actor to do different things, but this is a nice reminder as to her skill set.

While we don’t foresee Bush returning to Chicago PD in the near future, don’t be surprised to hear her character’s name mentioned many times in the future. Lindsay is a part of what happened between Voight and his son’s murderer, so she is naturally going to be a part of the investigation by Denny Woods in some way. Given what just happened to Denny’s son on Wednesday night’s new episode, it’s possible that he could be more motivated than ever to make a move against Hank.
