Watch Absentia episode 1 for free; Amazon offering preview
What do you need to do in order to see it? First and foremost, you need to visit the show’s official Amazon page. So long as you can sign in to your normal Amazon account, you should have an opportunity to watch the first episode. It’s dramatic, action-packed, and it serves as a very good teaser for what is coming in the nine episodes that follow.
It really doesn’t take too much thought to figure out why Amazon opted to release the first episode of the series for free — this is a clear move to get people hooked enough that they will pick up a month’s subscription and watch the rest! Without giving too much away, let’s just say that this is the sort of series where once you watch one episode, you are probably going to want to watch the result of them in rapid succession. You can space some of the episodes out since the Olympics are leading to a pretty-lengthy hiatus elsewhere for some of your favorite shows; or, you can choose to watch most of them in a couple of days before we get around to Super Bowl Sunday. It’ll certainly keep you on the edge of your seat.
