The Originals season 5: Show boss on Klaus, Caroline’s future
Well, we wish that it was. It should not be a secret to most of our readers at this point but we’ve long been a fan of the couple — we’ve rooted for the two parties to get together for quite some time now! Yet, why in the world would the writers give away their secrets now? What is known at the moment is that Candice King will be appearing several times on the final season, including the series finale. That’s a good bit of evidence that the two characters are going to share some time together. She’s important of course to more than just Klaus, given that his daughter Hope is attending the supernatural school she helps to run.
Speaking per TVLine, executive producer Julie Plec had the following to say when it comes to Klaus, Caroline, and whatever the future could be:
“I think what people can expect and count on is a nice thread of Caroline as a guiding counselor to Klaus in terms of fatherhood … She’s a mother, she lost her husband and she knows [Klaus] very well — better than some of the people in New Orleans. She understands the desire he has to be a good person in the name of his daughter, and she’s very quick to recognize that he’s not doing a very good job. She’s a friend, she’s a support system and she calls him on his s–t.”

There are reasons for Klaus to want to be with Caroline — she’s a calming influence, a great mentor potentially to his daughter, and also someone who understands him. She’s certainly seen him at his worst, and hopefully, the end of the season will allow us to see him at his best. We don’t quite know if full redemption for this character is possible, it’s still something that is worth exploring.
The Originals season 5 will premiere on The CW this spring.
