Outlander season 4 notes: Filming update; Sophie Skelton’s celebration

Outlander season 4 notes

Consider this an abridged version of Outlander season 4 notes for the day; Monday was far from the most eventful one in the world for the fandom, but there are still a couple of different headlines worth some discussion.

Let’s begin here with the latest season 4 filming update: We’re almost to the end of the road when it comes to filming at Cumbernauld Glen, which is a public park located reasonably close to both Cumbernauld Village and Glasgow. Caitriona Balfe has been spotted at the location previously and we’re certainly hopeful that there will be some more sightings come tomorrow. We especially hope that this is the case, given that there is no clear indication as to when Outlander will be filming in a place this public again.

Nonetheless, this past week has clearly been the most public we’ve seen Outlander filming in quite some time. Just remember that we’ve also had a Richard Rankin sighting in the Fife village of Falkland, which has been used as an Outlander occasion in the past. We do still have another seven-plus episodes to go this season before filming wraps (episodes 5 and 6 are filming now), so there is still plenty of time for the show to explore some other locations. We’ll be around with further updates … at least of the non-spoilery variety.

A Sophie Skelton celebration

We’ve posted recently that Sunday marks the two-year casting anniversary of Skelton landing the Brianna role, and in a post on Instagram she did her best to put that very occasion into perspective. It’s clear that she continues to have a lot of gratitude for being able to play this part, and that many fans have plenty of gratitude for her, as well. She’s done a great job to date and some of her meatiest work is still to come in season 4. Be prepared to see her in some of her most dramatic situations that we’ve seen from her to date.
