The Originals season 5: Is there hope for Haylijah reunion?
At the start of the fifth and final season, these characters will be potentially more divided than they have ever been, though admittedly this is far from their own choice to be that way. In the aftermath of all that transpired with The Hollow last season we are seeing many characters scattered all over the place, years within the future. Hayley, understandably, will be doing her best to try and move on with her life. That includes having a new love interest (a chef) and also presumably doing her best to check in on Hope every now and then. She is at her supernatural school run by Caroline Forbes, and all early indications are that one of her primary goals will be trying to find a way, if at all possible, to get her family back together.
For the time being, let’s put the focus mostly on the Haylijah relationship before diving too far into any other rabbit hole. Speaking to TV Guide, series star Daniel Gillies had the following to say when it comes to the possibility that these characters could be together again down the road:
“As long as there’s an Elijah and there’s a Hayley, there will always be some kind of love story transpiring … I think that at the very least we’ll revisit who they are to each other.”

The fifth season of The Originals will premiere a little bit later this spring, but we have a feeling that the writers are going to make you wait for a while before anything for Hayley and Elijah happens. Unfortunately, it could take a good chunk of time before anything to happen — neither one of them is in a place where they are open to each other, let alone in close proximity. Patience will be a virtue; that may prove difficult in the final season only because there are thirteen episodes.
