McMafia episode 7 preview: Alex comes clean
What we do know is this — we’ve reached presumably the end of him being able to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes. We are at the point now where the character needs to come clean, understand some of the errors of his past, and figure out the best way for him to try and move forward. This is not always the easiest thing in the world for him to do. Unfortunately, what he may also be realizing is that his moves towards reconciliation may be too little, too late. He’s waited far too long and as a result of that, caused himself immensely more trouble.
Below, the McMafia episode 7 synopsis offers up some more information regarding what is coming up:
After the shocking events in episode six, Alex is finally forced to come clean. Peace negotiations between Alex and Semiyon (David Strathairn), and Vadim (Merab Ninidze) and Ilya (Kirill Pirogov) in Istanbul, seem to bring matters to a close, but, unbeknownst to him, Alex has been betrayed once more.
Vadim, conflicted by the violence of his work and his love for his daughter, considers his next move…
Didn’t Alex have to come clean? Rebecca getting shot seems to cement that. This installment should give us a good sense as to her fate.
By the end of this episode, the biggest thing that we’re hoping to see is some sort of movement towards what the finale is going to look like. This additional betrayal on Alex’s part seems to be the sort of thing that could eventually spiral him out to becoming back in the game and a little more on edge than ever in the finale. We definitely don’t see the series pushing itself towards some sort of peaceful resolution, especially given all of the work that has been done to get us to this place so far. It’s a little more likely that McMafia wraps up the year with a bloodbath — as for whether or not it’s a physical or emotional one, we have to wait and see.
