Chicago PD season 5 episode 13: Is Antonio’s new love interest trouble?
The biggest thing that surprises CarterMatt within this is the presence of Antonio’s new love interest so soon after he and Brett were together. What’s interesting is that in some ways neither party is really taking things slow after their relationship did not work out. Brett on Chicago Fire showed a little bit of an interest in Zach before he ended up dating Stella instead; meanwhile, it seems as though Cruz is catching feelings for Brett again.
As for Antonio, his new love interest is new to the series … and also a problem. He may have feelings for some sort of double agent who is really not on his side even if she claims that she is. That’s problematic, to put it lightly. It’s possible that Antonio may be somewhat blinded by whatever relationship that he develops and, as a result of that, ends up getting himself in some trouble. Watching this story play out is going to be one of the more entertaining things about what’s coming up on Chicago PD in this episode, just because there’s something interesting about getting to explore what is a major Blindspot for him.

As for the future of Brett and Antonio, we’re not ruling out something for these two; yet, we’re also not holding our breath just because they’re on separate shows. It’s easier for Chicago Fire and PD to have the Trudy – Mouch relationship just because they’re already married and there’s no real dramatic tension that needs to be constantly-established between the two shows. With couples who are just starting out it’s a little bit more of a challenge. Of course, with Antonio in this case it’s almost impossible given the circumstances.
