911 episode 5 preview: A journey into Bobby’s past

When 911 episode 5 airs on Fox next week, it appears on the surface like you are going to be reminded of one thing more so than anything else: There are no easy days for Bobby. This is not going to be the sort of show where there is some episode coming up entitled “Bobby goes to the beach” where he just sit around for a while and enjoys a cocktail. That’s not going to happen. Instead, what we’ve got ahead on “Point of Origin” is his past coming back to bite him.

Below, the 911 episode 5 synopsis offers up a little more news when it comes to what’s coming:

The crew races to an emergency when disaster strikes at an Indian wedding. Abby enlists the help of Buck to try and find her mother and, for the first time, meets Athena face-to-face. Meanwhile, Bobby has a difficult time confronting his past and Hen struggles to make the right decision in the all-new “Point of Origin” episode of 9-1-1 airing Wednesday, Jan. 31 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (NIN-105) (TV-14 D, L, S, V)

The meeting between Abby and Athena was something that was bound to happen at some point in the near future. After all, if Abby was separated from the remainder of the cast forever, that would probably cause some problems and would make craving out the show’s future all the more challenging. We’re ultimately rather thrilled that the series is not quite going in that direction. This episode is also just important in further establishing just who some of these people are and how, moving forward, it’s essential that we start to understand their perspective and how much they feel like their jobs are essential to their day-to-day lives.

In the end, let’s also hope for a few more surprises that are not set up here.
