NCIS: New Orleans review: The LaSalle family surprise
What happened tonight? Well, a seemingly-innocent story about Christopher LaSalle heading back home took a turn for the painful when he learned that his father had passed away. Not only that, but he never had an opportunity to actually say goodbye. When his father came to visit him in New Orleans, the idea was that he was supposed to tell him about what he was going through. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Instead, LaSalle was left in the dark on everything that was going on.
To make matters all the more difficult for him, he returned home to some other shocking news: His father had made him executor of his will and put him in charge of the family business. Once again, he had no idea. He was basically told everything the moment that he arrived back home.

While everything was going on with LaSalle, the NCIS team back in New Orleans had their own problems to deal with related to Pride’s past — an old friend of Pride’s and a prominent member of an old club was found dead via a bomb. They needed help to figure out what happened, and that led to LaSalle coming back the moment that Percy called him and told him about the bomb.
It was clear why LaSalle was back to help with the case: He viewed this mostly as a distraction, as a way for him to get away from what was happening and to focus more on what it is he does best. Admittedly, though, it was hard for us to focus on the case — including Pride’s friendship to a possible suspect — in the midst of what we thought about LaSalle and his father. We spent most of this episode waiting around with bated breath to learn, one way or another, what was going to happen with him.
The good news here is that Pride ultimately did resolve what was going on with the bomb, and in turn, he was able to sort around what was going on with his friend.
As for LaSalle…
Percy did her best in order to encourage him to go out to the club to try and unwind from what he’s going through. He was still struggling with what happened and understandably so. He does seem to be sticking around, but some of the pain he’s going through will still remain. He’s going to run the family business from the Big Easy if he has to.
Overall
NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 13 proved to be a very good episode and a chance to learn a little bit more about LaSalle and his past.
