Gotham season 4: Want a few more Cameron Monaghan – Jerome teases?

Cameron Monaghan

For everyone out there eager to see Cameron Monaghan as Jerome on Gotham season 4, rest assured that we are right there with you!

Luckily, the actor is doing everything that he can in order to keep some of the excitement for his episodes going, including handing out some continual reminders via Instagram (see below) that there is a great deal of danger coming for both Jerome and for some others around him. His upcoming scenes will be violent, which really shouldn’t come as much of a shock for a number of different reasons. For one, we’re talking about someone who loves to turn things into a bloody mess; also, he’s in Arkham. Arkham may very well be one of the least-peaceful places of all time, and given that this is not his first rodeo there Jerome probably already has a good bit of power over some of the other people at the asylum.

Based on just about every indication that we’ve got, Jerome will be around for at least a couple of episodes when Gotham returns to Fox a little bit later in the year. (Alas, there is no firm return date yet.) This Jerome arc has become in so many ways the tradition for this character. You want to bring him in at some point during the season / when Monaghan is available to mix things up, and you want him to make a huge splash in a short period of time. The Jerome arcs, especially the ones the last two seasons, have made an enormous impact on some of the characters. We would argue that the last battle between Bruce and Jerome in season 3 was the biggest hero moment for Bruce Wayne to date. That is when he started to realize more of his true potential. Whether or not he chooses to live up to that the remainder of the series is really something that is up to him.

This time around, we know that there will be some time shared between Jerome and Oswald Cobblepot, which should be interesting given that, at least so far, these are two characters who have not really spent all that much time together. We’re excited to see what it looks like when these forces do collide on the series and what the characters’ arcs look like on the other side (provided that both parties survive).
