Chicago Fire couple Dawson / Casey (Dawsey) is your favorite One Chicago ‘ship
That’s a question that we posed in a new feature article earlier this week, as we were very much interested to learn what couples from the NBC show fans were the most interested in embracing.
As it turns out, the results were almost entirely split between two different ‘ships — Dawson and Casey a.k.a. Dawsey from Chicago Fire, and then the crossover couple of Brett and Antonio a.k.a. Brettonio. We understand why there would be an interest in both pairings, given that they each really represent what all of these shows are about. All of the characters featured within them are smart, strong, passionate, and capable of so much love. They also represent Chicago’s fabric of diversity and interesting cultural background. They’re the sort of couples / prospective couples you tend to see in real life and not always on TV. They’re complicated in all the right ways.
In the end, though, there could only be one pair who emerged as our champion at CarterMatt…

We cannot say that we’re surprised to see Dawsey emerge with the title, given that they are the foundation for so many other ‘ships, let alone the entire One Chicago franchise as a whole. So much adoration for the franchise stemmed from these two characters and we hope that their marriage continues to blossom in the years to come. They love each other, but what also makes them so great is that they also have their fair share of struggles. We’re seeing a little bit of that right now with them courtesy of the whole Bria storyline. They want to do everything that they can in order to find her and make her safe, but Dawson’s investment in it has at times left Casey out in the cold. Hopefully, they will find a way to work through this and make it through to the other side stronger than ever; after all, we want nothing less for the two of them.
